March 2020 Roving Rally

Roving Rally from Tuncurry back to Central Coast

After a nice relaxing week in Tuncurry it was time to head off. Only 1 van attended the roving rally. We headed for Ellenborough Reserve where we found it was a popular destination. Almost no room left but we found a nice site & set up camp. They had had some rain as the grounds were wet & muddy in spots & the river was running well. Stayed & relaxed for 3 days before heading off & decided to check out Wingham Reserve. Nice area on the river & also was popular. Set up camp & then decided to walk back into town to stretch the legs & look around. Only a 24hr free camp so had to move on the next day. Due to the amount of rain that had previously fallen we decided to miss Coopernook State Forest & headed to Bulahdelah Lions Park for a few days. Was very quite on the Friday when we arrived but on Saturday afternoon it was a differnt thing. We counted 30 vans that night & i'm sure more came in during the night as we had a camper right on our door at bed time. No room to move. Sunday afternoon we had a visit from an echidna & kookaburra. Don't often get to see an echidna in the wild & up close. We enjoyed our stay as we always do, spent some money in town & just relaxed. Monday we headed for home.
