Mid North Coast Rally Sept 2019

2 vans attended this trip. We met up at 12 Mile Creek rest area & headed to Bulahdelah for a few nights free camping at the Lions Park. This is very popular with travellers with all types of accomadation. While there we went for a drive into Myal Lakes N.Pk & checked out the campsite & caravan park. The next day we walked into Bulahdelah to endulge our taste buds with a cooked brekky at the loal cafe. Twas lovely it twas. Now to pack up & move on to our next stop which was Coopernook State Forest camp ground. Another free camp, so the price is right. Lovely open grassy area with drop toilets & very popular. The 1st night we even had free entertainment from a fellow traveller with guitar, mouth organ & a sing along with all the other campers. Over the next few days we relaxed, walked, talked, went for a drive into Landsdown, Coopernook, Harrington, Crowdy Head & decided to stop for lunch at Harrington. Gourmet pies, chips & of course coffee. It was scrumptious. After 4 days at the State Forest decided it was time to move on, so next stop was Wauchope show ground. We visited Cowarra Dam, drove into Port one day, checked out Timbertown campground & Ellenborough Reserve campground. We also visited Port & Wauchope Op shops where we did purchase a few items. After 3 days we decided to change our plans & moved onto Ellenborough Campground. This is also a free camp with picnic tables & drop toilets which are cleaned every Tuesday & Friday. It was so peaceful. Lots of birds, bush turkeys & lovely fellow travellers. Not much water in the river but it was running. It was so relaxing we decided to stay here for 4 nights. We walked, chatted, relaxed, had the occasional happy hour, of course, but overall just relaxed & enjoyed the peaceful setting. As our trip was coming to an end we decided to head back to Bulahdelah for our last night. We relaxed with a few drinks & watched the birds fluttering about the river bank. The next morning we decided to head back into Bulahdelah for a final cooked brekky. We never have a bad meal at Bulahdelah, so finished our trip on a full tummy. Said our goodbyes & headed for home & guess what, it rained all the way home. Report by Sue & Glenore
